49. Shore Road is geographically the continuation of St. John's Street in a southerly direction. The young lady is standing by a small lake along Shore Road. This view is looking away from the village.

50. Looking back towards the village. The large house, Winterton Hall, became the base for B.O.A.C. Flying Boats.

53. The main hangar - workshop area for the flying boats, known as the Big Shed, At one time the shed had painted on its roof a large advertisement for Supermarine, an earlier Aviation Company.

57. The corner where Shore Road turns and becomes Frost Lane. A few meters on is the railway crossing. When the line was built there was an open crossing with warning signs posted. Later a signal box was built with a mechanism for closing two swing gates. Today the box is closed and there are automatic lifting gates. Sadly the house shown is no longer standing.

58. Running north from the Pier Entrance is Prospect Place. This view is looking south toward the Pier Entrance. The large house on the left was known as 'Wick's House'. Prospect Place continues north, away from the village, as West Road. It also turns west into Jones Lane.
